Royal FloraHolland is one of the world’s largest digital and physical marketplaces for flowers and plants. With millions of transactions per day, we generate an enormous amount of data that fuels innovation across the horticultural sector.

To harness the power of generative AI and accelerate digital transformation, we are setting up our own AI Lab – a dedicated hub where Data Scientists, ML Engineers and business experts will collaborate to transform how we operate and deliver value to growers, buyers, and partners worldwide.

In this AI Lab, we will embrace innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Our mission: to design and scale AI solutions that drive efficiency, robustness, and sustainability across the entire horticultural value chain

What you will be doing

As an AI Engineer, you will play a leading role in shaping and building our AI Lab from the ground up. Your responsibilities include:

• Developing AI applications: design, develop, deploy, monitor and maintain (Agentic) AI applications. Ensuring scalability, efficiency, and robustness of AI models and solutions across our platform.
• Collaborating across disciplines: working closely with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver impactful AI solutions.
• Staying ahead: keeping up with the latest advancements in generative AI and translating them into innovative applications for Royal FloraHolland.

We are aiming to support different processes in the organization with agentic AI solutions.

What we are looking for

• A completed master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of hands-on experience in data science, preferably in creating AI agents.
• Strong technical skills (Python, ML frameworks, CI/CD, git) and solid understanding of algorithms, data architecture and cloud technology (preferable AWS and Databricks). LLMs, RAG.
• Curiosity, creativity, and passion for continuous learning.
• Strong sense of ownership of the things you deliver
• Excellent communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical worlds.
